The City of Aurora had a big party to honor all those who turn 100 this year (and those who turn one). Our own Lucille was one of those being honored!

Family Picnic 2017. Family members and residents and friends joined together to have a great time at this year’s event. Thanks to all who attended, Larry who catered the event and Renae who put it all together.  Great job, all!

Our 2017 Mother’s Day Celebration was great.  Residents and staff brought their friends and family and enjoyed Jeanette Andrews, a Magician, and a tasty buffet supper. Thank you, Renae, for a job well done!

Painting Birdhouses! What fun!

St. Patrick’s Day

Sunnymere was definitely ‘Wearing the Green’ on St. Pat’s Day.  Corned beef and cabbage first, and then a party. And a puppy came to see us.  Fun for all.

Mardi Gras 2017 was such fun. So many residents in the party mode!!

The Holiday for Trees

The 4th graders from Aurora’s Temple B’nai Israel spent a Sunday morning at Sunnymere, sharing the holiday of Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish holiday that celebrates ‘trees’ and all things that grow from the ground.  Enjoyed by all!

On this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. ‘Day of Service’, area students volunteered to spend time with our residents. Everyone had a great time playing games together. Apples to Apples and Left Right Center were especially fun. Thank you to all the young people who made our residents very happy that day.

The residents turned discarded jewelry into works of art. Thank you, Kathi!

The holidays were so festive!  We so appreciate all the groups who came to sing and interact with the residents.

Moms & More came to Sunnymere! Yes, moms and their little ones came to visit and spend time with our residents. You can see how much everyone enjoyed the visit!

So pleased that Mission Aurora came to help us clean up our grounds over the summer. Five churches recruited volunteers and how lucky for us that they spent one day at Sunnymere.
