Sunnymere was built in 1939, and at that time, galvanized pipes were used everywhere. However, the average lifespan of galvanized steel water supply pipe is 40 to 60 years–and Sunnymere is now 84 years old.
Over time, the galvanized steel pipes begin to rust or corrode from the inside out, resulting in reduced water pressure and restricted water flow. Replacing this piping improves the water pressure and the longevity of the building.
